With his uncompromising delivery and fearless approach to taboos, Al Prodgers is often billed as a "dangerous" comic. But he's just as funny when he's musing whimsically about drug-sniffer dogs or bemoaning his receding hairline.
 
His ability to read a crowd mood and adapt to it explains why his incisive, intelligent wit is as popular with shockable grannies as it is with hardcore student types. His versatility has helped establish him as a sought-after talent in just six years - Al only ditched "serious" acting for stand-up in 1996. Since then, he's become a regular feature of the SMIRNOFF INTERNATIONAL COMEDY FESTIVAL, has had two successful solo shows at the GRAHAMSTOWN FESTIVAL, and has appeared on several television stand-up shows, including THE BARRY HILTON SHOW and COMEDY SHOWCASE.
 
Al is also a popular regular on the club and corporate circuit, having performed as far afield as Windhoek , Namibia . His fiery intelligence makes him one of the hottest players in the improvised comedy sensation, IMPROV EXPRESS, which is completely made up at every show.
 
When legendary US comedian, STEVE WRIGHT toured South Africa in 1999, Al was the obvious choice to open for him, performing to 2000 people in Cape Town . Provocative and challenging, he'll always be a hit with those who want to see a razor-sharp mind working in overdrive!
