Eddie was one of the founder members of the group The Bats. When The Bats disbanded in 1980, after a period of 16 years, he then followed a solo career. During his years with The Bats he represented South Africa at the Tokyo Song Festival and his song "Oh God It's Beautiful", which was composed by fellow Bat, Paul Ditchfield, came 11 th out of 35 countries competing.
 
He took the part of Mannie Bloom in John Cundill's T.V. series "Oh George". He then spent one year in Sydney , Australia where he appeared in "I Love My Wife". Since returning to South Africa in 1983 his theatre appearances have included starring roles in "Little Shop of Horrors", "Pajama Tops" at the Wild Coast Sun, "Not Now darling", "Grin and Bear It" and "What About Love".
 
He also did a Christmas Season at the Wild Coast Sun in his own show in December 1989. In between theatre and T.V. appearances, Eddie is fully employed in Corporate Cabaret for major companies countrywide. He was one of the comedians in the popular T.V. show "Biltong and Potroast" and took part in the first Laugh Aid held in the Sun City Superbowl. In 1991 he did cabaret in Portugal when one of the hotels on the Algarve ran a Springbok weekend.
 
Until recently he was one of the regular hosts on the hugely successful Telly Fun Quiz on T.V. In 1997 he co-starred with Tobie Cronje in the stage production "Situation Comedy" His cabaret performance includes humour and song and just recently he has introduced a segment on an electronic drum machine called a Drum Kat, which is proving successful. In October 1999 he spent time in Israel doing shows there, together with Mel Miller and Cyril Green .
