Going for Gold 

Bruce Fordyce is a nine times winner of South Africa's famous Comrades marathon.  In addition, he has won numerous ultra marathons and marathons around the world and in South Africa.  His winning time for the classic ‘London to Brighton’ is noted as a Guinness Book of Records achievement.

Bruce’s sporting successes have led to numerous awards, including a ‘State President's Gold Award’ from Nelson Mandela.  He has also served as a trustee and patron of a number of charities.

As a writer, Bruce has written for several newspapers and has published several books.  As a result of this he has spoken to hundreds of companies, businesses, schools and sports clubs as a motivational speaker, M.C. and team building consultant.

Bruce Fordyce has been in demand as a speaker since 1984.

Recently his Chairmanship of the committee which built the R41 million ‘Origins Centre’ at Wits University has led to a demand for his services as a lecturer on his speciality, Early Man, the Iron Age and San/Bushman Rock Art. Bruce studied Archaeology at Wits and was recently awarded an honorary doctorate from the university.  He speaks often on human origins and leads tour groups through the Origins Centre.

In a lively, thought provoking and often humorous presentation Bruce Fordyce presents fascinating facts and figures about the 2010 football World Cup.He exorts South Africans to take ownership of the "showpiece of the beautiful Game" and to help make this the greatest World Cup ever.He shows that we are already winners because we have been chosen to host the event regardless of the performance of the national team. He urges South Africans to "get off the bench" and become players and participants in this sporting epic rather than to sit back like spectators and just let it happen.

His presentation is illustrated with explosive video footage of great World Cup highlights as well as some very amusing moments. His call for action leaves the audience pumped up and tremendously excited about an event that will forever change the perception of South Africa in the eyes of the World bur more importantly in the eyes of South Africans.
