Born to a humble family on the East Rand, Vusi's public speaking started at high school where he was able to compete with the best young public speakers from all over the world. During the international finals of the world-renowned English Speaking Union Public Speaking Competition, the judges gave Vusi third place – but the audience awarded him the prestigious “The Audience Favourite Speaker” prize. Soon after came the ABSA-Rotary national speech competition; Vusi entered it and won and with it came the opportunity to compete in the Australian Top 16, which is held once every 5 years. This platform sees the top 16 speakers from all over the world battling it out for top honours – and Vusi was the youngest competitor ever to be invited to this prestigious gathering. He rose to the challenge: won the competition and yet again picked-up “The Audience Favourite Speaker” prize and with it, the honour of a 3-week speaking tour of Australia. His personal highlights include having given an address to the Australian Houses of Parliament and meeting the Australian Prime Minister, John Howard; speaking at the British House of Commons and meeting former President Nelson Mandela. Vusi is a black-belt martial arts exponent (for two consecutive years a national champion) and he holds national colours in public speaking, music and debating. Today, Vusi inspires his audiences by sharing his own story of hope, "Big Mamma and the Horse” which drives those who hear him to raise their own sights. His satisfied clients include: Syfrets Private Bank; Rotary, Homenet and Nedbank. “He is dynamic”- Mavis Tshokolo, HR Development, Office of the Premier, Gauteng. “Vusi was very professional & we would most definitely use his time for future events”- Lucia Lao Umsobomvu Youth Fund EE Conference 2005 “Pure inspiration – there is nothing like him out there” - Donald Trump, President Trump International “Pure genius – I have never seen another speaker that added as much value as Vusi” - Jabu Stone, President Afrocentric Design. “Some people are born to lead and motivate others.
