Having worked in the corporate and private sector of business for 14 years prior to being selected to play cricket in an industry that demands total dedication and commitment to achieving results, the many same principles that are applied can be found in both the Sporting and Business environment, and having being part of the era in South African cricket that was termed successful in world terms has enabled him to grasp and isolate many fundamentals that are often overlooked when striving for success. Overcoming fear, maintaining passion, planning for success, building a team and being a team player are areas that Pat has been fortunate enough to experience personally. Pat has a diploma in Sports Psychology. He spent seven years in the Private Hospital industry as a Hospital Manager after employment as an accountant with an engineering firm He represented South Africa as a cricketer boasting 20 tests and 80 ODI's. He is also a contracted cricket commentator to Supersport doing all international cricket both in South Africa and abroad. Pat enjoys golf and fishing and lives on the Kwa-Zulu Natal south coast. Fly- fishing in the salt water has become his latest fad. He has an enormous cricket book collection and continually adds to it at every opportunity. Pat also enjoys old furniture and when time permits also restores pieces for his own home. Pat is married to Liz and has a son Russel who is now contracted to the Natal Dolphins. |
