Born in Cape Town in 1958, Paul du Toit's grounding in theatre and entertainment provided an ideal springboard for a professional speaking career. His introduction to the business world in 1982 created a conviction that key customer retention plays a vital role in sustained economic prosperity. Starting in management where he served on Southern Life's National Training Committee, he moved to Consulting in the mid 90's and founded the Congruence Group in Johannesburg. In 1997 the company added a training arm, specialising in customer excellence interventions and later presentation skills. The company is still growing and prospering today. October 1997 saw Paul deliver his first series of national talks for Volkswagen Dealer Training on the subject of customer excellence. Since then, he has become well known throughout Southern Africa for his Winning Attitude and Mind Blowing Customer Service seminars. He is a versatile presentation and platform skills facilitator and is now a regular speaker and MC at company conferences. Paul is currently President and a founder member of the National Speakers Association of South Africa www.nsasouthafrica.co.za (now a candidate member of the International Federation for Professional Speakers). On 2 April 2005 he presented a showcase at the Inaugural Global Speakers Summit on Key Account Management, where he carried the South African flag at the opening ceremony. Paul's humorous, entertaining and high-content presentation style has kept delegates riveted during his talks and seminars throughout Southern Africa. Paul lives in Sandton, north of Johannesburg, likes to belt a tennis ball around the court (he is a recent former Chairman of the Rivonia tennis club), completed his first ultra-marathon in March 2005 (The 34.8 miles Two Oceans in Cape Town) and is married with two daughters.
