Wolfgang is Chief Executive of Future World, a business and technology think-tank that he runs with his wife Samantha, and director of several companies including a leading management consulting firm. After initial business experience in the insurance industry he had a highly successful career with IBM internationally. Over the years he has worked in all aspects of the high technology business from product development, education and brand management to marketing, sales and executive management. As Corporate Strategy Executive, he had the unique experience of being an integral part of the highly visible and successful transformation of IBM South Africa to ISM. His Groups focus on helping organisations position and transform themselves for the new age of competitiveness and thrive in the increasingly challenging future. Their clients include major global organisations, as well as small entrepreneurial companies. As CEO, Wolfgang led the Group to become of South Africa 's most highly regarded management consultancies, and they have recently embarked on work with European clients applying lessons from managing in a chaotic environment worldwide. He has had significant personal experience with organisational change and global competitiveness and has developed an extensive global network of associates who work jointly on addressing client needs in this field. On a personal level Wolfgang is widely recognised as a top international speaker on trends in future technologies and how these are fundamentally changing the way we will live, work and compete. He has given talks on the subject in more than 20 countries, in person, on radio and television. He has regularly been rated as top speaker on Eskom's technology Leadership Programme, was rated as one of the decade's top speakers at the Insurance Industry's Recognition event and he won the NACCA award for the best business article of the year for this article entitled "In Search of Simplicity". He is a successful writer and photographer and has been widely published , on the subjects of technology, management and marine life (another long-time interest of his). He is currently working on a new book on the marine life of the Indian Ocean together with Mike Bruton, the director of the JLB Smith Institute in Grahamstown, a world-renowned research institution on whose management board Wolfgang serves. |
