Key Change

Take a 50+ year old, give him a shoe-shine (that's a little highlighting job), let him loose on a key-board and give him the chance to tell a few stories; and you've got Chris Voysey -Professional Speaker Extraordinaire!

Chris Voysey was born in Durban , South Africa on 6 December, 1949. He has always had an interest in communication, speech work and performing and aside from extensive school involvement in debating and drama, played leading child performer roles in 'OLIVER', 'THE KING & I' and other productions (stage and radio) professionally.

After school and the required stint in the army, he spent some time in the theatre before deciding to move into business - a decision encouraged by the actor's small pay packet! While acting, he put himself through theatre school and university part-time and earned his B.A in English and Philosophy and a Teacher's Diploma (LTCL) in Speech & Drama .

Chris worked in advertising as a Copywriter and then later as Creative Director in a few different agencies amongst which were BBDO, McCann Erickson and Grey, Phillips, Bunton, Mundel and Blake. Over a period of about 15 years, he conceptualized creative campaigns for a number of clients, both big and small, and won a few creativity awards while doing so.

As part of an early mid-life crisis, he left advertising, changed direction completely and joined a large direct-selling company to set up their communications and marketing departments. During the 12 years he spent with this international company he also organized and hosted many events both locally and internationally, at which he was a keynote speaker or MC.

He has spoken at events with audiences ranging from 30 to 3000, in places ranging from Johannesburg to Lagos to Disneyworld . As part of a proper mid-life crisis, Chris left the direct-selling company with a wish to promote himself as a speaker and a desire to take the extensive experience and knowledge he had gained over 25 years and put it into a consultancy of his own.
