Dorianne Cara Weil is a clinical and organisational psychologist with over twenty five (25) years of experience in hospital, private and corporate practice. She is the Resident Psychologist for Radio 702 and Cape Talk and as such, is called upon to comment on current affairs almost daily. Her talk show every Sunday from 9pm - 12pm; "Heart of the Chatter, deals with diverse topics ranging from Spirituality to Sexuality, Bereavement, Drugs, Divorce, Relationship Problems, Self Esteem or anything that the listeners wish to discuss. In 2001 her guests included Deepak Chopra, Uri Geller, Wayne Dyer, Brandon Bays and many religious and political leaders. Dori, or "Dr D", appears and is quoted regularly in print and electronic media. She is the residential psychologist for the Felicia Mabuza Suttle Show and Big Brother. Amongst many others, TV appearances include "Carte Blanche"; "Good Morning South Africa"; "Top Level"; "Lebone"; "CNN International" and "NBC". Her own TV series - Positive Leap - was the number one show on TV2 in 1998. Her regular columns in the press and other journals reach more than a million readers monthly. As a consultant to numerous organisations she deals with the creation of "Cholesterol Free Companies for the New Millennium", as well as facilitating team building and conflict resolution workshops. Her presentations are legendary and corporate clients in 2001 include, "Anglo Platts", "S.A. Breweries", "Pick-n-Pay", "Alexander Forbes", "Vodacom", "ABSA", "FNB", "Canon", "Sun International" and many others. She co-authored a book and training course on Service Excellence and on maximising the potential of all employees in the organisation. In her capacity as a certified mediator she deals with divorce, interpersonal, industrial and business disputes. Her involvement with the International Young Presidents Organisation and the Chief Executives Organisation includes being a sought after resource in the area of personal development, relationships and sexuality for chapters, area conferences and universities. She has addressed audiences in 38 countries, including Prague , Abu Dhabi , India , Jerusalem , most European countries, Mauritius and the USA . She conducts training courses for executives internationally on facilitation skills, team building and communication and has trained more than 3 000 YPO'ers and spouses. Her love and concern for South Africa and its people has led to her extensive voluntary involvement with individuals, organisations and the media. She is a Director of the Alexandra C.L.U.B., a company formulated to target and reduce crime in Alexandra. She is a director of "Nuthawun Kids", books and products concerned with the promotion of Emotional Intelligence in children. She is one of four appointed national experts on the C.N.E.P. - The Child Nutrition Expert Panel - a scientific body concerned with promoting holistic health and nutrition to all the children and parents of South Africa . Dorianne is a recognised authority on Emotional Intelligence and was commissioned by the Kellogg Company to assist in the development of a national schools programme to introduce the teaching of life skills into South African schools. She is a founder of "Majors for Minors" - an international company concerned with "Brain Food for Kids", which features music and child development products. Her first CD achieved "gold" status. She was appointed as the youngest senior psychologist and Head of the Department of Psychology at Tara - the H. Moross Centre - Johannesburg's largest psychiatric teaching hospital where she trained psychologists and doctors and practised from 1977 - 1986. During this time she was a lecturer at the University of the Witwatersrand Medical School . In 1997, Dorianne was awarded the Rotary Paul Harris Award for Outstanding Community Service. Dori is a member of several professional and business organisations including: Psychological Association of South Africa; South African Institute for Marital and Family Therapy; South African Institute of Clinical Psychologists; Business Women's Executive Club; Soroptimists; Sheba and others. She has addressed all of the above. She is married to CEO'er, Les Weil, Chairman of the JH Isaacs Property Group and past President of the South African Chamber of Business and is the very proud mother of twins, Jemma-Claire and Dean Harrison.
