Aim of Mad MeanderOur aim with the “Mad Meander” is to provide delegates with an innovative and interactive way of having fun as a team together.Delegates will meet at the office, from where they will depart in various groups to a “mystery destination”. Each team will be issued with a video camera, and once they have been briefed on the workings of the camera and the intricacies involved in producing a video diary of their afternoon, they will be given their first clue in the form of a “route book”. The Route book is written according to distance travelled; each intersection is represented by a line diagram, along with its distance from the start. The route the vehicle needs to follow is thus indicated on the line diagram. Each vehicle is also issued with a “Help” envelope. This is to be used in case the delegated get lost and contains the organiser's cell phone numbers. En route, at various intervals, the group will be required to complete certain tasks / challenges before they can get the next clue to continue on their journey. These tasks are dependent on budget, location of your final destination, the demographics of the group and the amount of time available. These challenges could include: · Eating at Wandi's Tavern, · Finding an obscure painting and using MMS technology to get the next clue, · Sporting challenges such as a drop-kick from “Stransky's Spot” · Finding an Internet café and using internet research to find the next clue · Changing tyres on your car, · Herding Sheep, · Buying “African Artifacts” · Etc. At the end of the day, delegates will get together at the “mystery” location, where we will have a prize giving for the various teams. Still confused? Think TV's “The Amazing Race” and you're right on target! Fun StuffAdventure-based team building isoften confused with half-day outdoor activity programmes and in essence these should rather be referred to as "Corporate Recreation". In response to many enquiries regarding half-day fun interventions to break the monotony of conferencing, Leader Motivation Systems is in a position to offer several such options. The aim of the Corporate Recreation programme is mainly to relieve stress and achieve a reasonably high level of activity suitable to all levels of fitness. Programmes focus on F.U.N.N. (Functional Understanding Not Necessary) and getting usually quiet and sedate adults to play like children and "go moggy". The availability of some of the outdoor activities mentioned may be dependent on the venue. OutdoorRoute Books:Delegates are required to find their way to a "Mystery Destination" (the venue for their conference). Navigators are equipped with a Route Book, which is a cryptic description of the route they are required to drive. Drivers must ensure that the vehicle's odometer / trip meter is accurately monitored in order to track progress along the route. The Route book is written according to distance travelled; a line diagram, along with its distance from the start, represents each intersection. The route the vehicle needs to follow is thus indicated on the line diagram. Abseiling and Rock Climbing: Although these challenges aren't new, they continue to provide an exciting way to face one's fear, experience fantastic views, and as a test of team support and understanding. White Water Rafting: Utilising South African Rivers Association (SARA) qualified instructors, clients experience safe grade 3 rapids within 90 minutes' drive from Johannesburg. The trip can be run as a Full Day or Half-Day adventure, and can be combined with a Route Book. Kloofing: Although delegates require a fairly high level of fitness, this day out affords them the opportunity to abseil into a gorge before following the course of the river, swimming, jumping off waterfalls (sometimes even doing a "wet" abseil) before reaching the mouth of the gorge to the welcoming smell of fresh coffee, or maybe even an ice-cold beer. Wetsuits are recommended and this programme is only available during the summer months! 4x4Trails: Experience the great outdoors in the luxury of a double-cab 4x4. If you can't bring your own (or don't want to) we'll supply you with one! Ranging from afternoon outings to weekends in the mountains, these trips are ideal for incentives, or informal teambuilding sessions. Naturally these trips can be easily combined with any one of our training programmes. Speed (without the risk of fines): Combined with a Harley Davidson pillion ride, this afternoon (or longer) programme exposes delegates to thrill of pushing their bodies and minds to the limit. Combined in this high adrenalin programme are skid-pan sessions, high speed driving & cornering, rounded off with a little socializing to soothe the ragged nerves. IndoorNewspaper Fashion Show:Try your hand at designing the ultimate outfit to rival the fashion houses of Paris and New York. Teams work on a pre-determined theme, using newspaper in order to design, make and model their new corporate fashion. Photo Trails: Delegates are divided into groups of approximately 10-15 members. Each group is issued with a disposable camera, a map of the conference venue surroundings, a compass, and a copy of the Photo Trail Guide Book. With a time deadline, teams are then required to take photographs identical to those in their Trail Guide. Photos are often somewhat obscure, taken from "weird" angles, or may include team members in awkward poses. Each team hands in their camera at the appointed time from where the films are taken for processing. Corporate Connection: Utilising effective role clarification, planning and placing a high priority on productivity as well as creativity, the team is mentally challenged. This will help team members become aware of statistical probability in the workplace, and it will enable delegates to experience group problem-solving with input representing all aspects of a process. Who wants to be a sellionnaire? Extremely enjoyable filler at any sales conference, the quiz show format uses both general knowledge and sales skills to create a mentally challenging team competition. The questions are often tailored to the client to include product knowledge, facts about colleagues and fun questions regarding any topical event. An evening at the Oscars: With a choice of dressing up or not, this fun and interactive team competition is based on the ever-popular charades. Delegates need to act and improvise their way to success by cajoling often-difficult concepts for their teammates to decipher. The Best of ESPN Edison: Relying almost entirely on the principle that "more brains are better than one", the team is required to take a step outside their paradigm, be creative, and set up specific structures and systems within which they are required to complete a task. The entire corporate creative process is addressed in an indoor or outdoor environment depending on the time of year and weather conditions. Experiential learning is taken indoors while still maintaining the well-balanced approach between learning and fun. |
